In August of last year, I attended the International Maxwell Conference (IMC) to continue my own development as a business coach leadership trainer. The main message at the convention was the importance of business leadership coaching and how it gives an advantage to the individuals or corporations that use it.
awareness and Development
Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.” This is true in our personal or professional environments. A business coach or being part of leadership training session allows individuals to gain awareness and bring the unconscious to the conscious. If you do not modify the way you think, you will keep making the same habitual mistakes and never get out of just wishing to change. Remember…
- You need to be realistic at understanding where you are.
- You need to be intentional at knowing where you want to go.
- You must know who you are and have the awareness and will to grow.
- Valuing your own reflection in the mirror.
Otherwise, you run the risk of having negative thoughts, surrounding yourself with harmful relationships, and/or following poor opinions. Don’t get me wrong. I like getting people’s opinions to reflect and analyze the situation before deciding to move forward. What I’m saying is, you need to have a powerful inner circle where a business coach leadership trainer is part of your development.
transformational leadership
During the IMC, it was also reinforced how coaching and leadership development is transformational. A Transformational Leader has been defined as a person that influences people to think, speak, and act in such a way that it makes a positive difference in their life and lives for others. That is exactly what a business coach leadership trainer does.

Have you heard of the law of cause and effect? It states how every action has an equal and opposite reaction. This law is linked to our human limited awareness. If we don’t capture and understand how our actions will deliver a reaction, we might start making excuses without realizing we are the ones creating the results in our lives.
In leadership training, I use the word “because” as the perfect excuse not to grow or change. People say, “I can’t because….” And fill in the blank space with whatever reason they want to come up with. It is perfect, as it allows you (us) to rationalize why the world is so unfair and your struggles are so painful. A benefit of having a business coach is that you stop saying “because,” and start being responsible for your own actions.

One of my heroes, American entrepreneur Jim Rohn once stated, “Chase perfection and you’ll fail, chase consistency and you’ll succeed.” This what business coaching is all about.
